Dick’s Burger Blast for Local Veterans and Military Members
Dick’s Drive-Ins to honor military service with free cheeseburgers on Veterans Day
Seattle – Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. announced today free cheeseburgers in honor of Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11. Free cheeseburgers will be provided at all five Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants throughout the day on Nov. 11 to any veteran or active military member as a way to honor past and present military service.
Dick Spady, co-founder and president of Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants, says this Veterans Day effort is “near and dear to my heart.” “I served in the Navy in World War II, the Air Force during the Korean War, and my wife was in the Navy when we met in 1954. We both share a deep respect and admiration for our fellow veterans and active military members. They deserve our recognition and support,” Spady says.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m. until closing on Veterans Day, all veterans and active duty military members can show military identification and receive a free cheeseburger at all five Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants in Wallingford, Capitol Hill, Holman Road, Lake City, and Queen Anne.
Spady recently celebrated his 86th birthday, and this past January, Dick’s marked its 55th anniversary as one of Seattle’s oldest, continuously operating burger joints. “We have been making memories for over a half-century and our veterans and military members have been an important part of the community,” Spady says.
